Beckley-Commerce Plans

 

Complete Street means what it says south and west of the Trinity. The FWADG is pleased to announce that the City Design Studio has approved the WRT/Transportation Department plans for the Beckley and West Commerce intersection. We expect construction to start by Fall of 2010.

 

This design balances all modes of transportation and responds to context. Cars, bicycles, and pedestrians are equally treated. The new intersection provides much needed connectivity to the future Trinity amenities while making a proper 4-corner intersection out of the existing cloverleaf. The result will be two new parcels of land adjacent to the Trinity whose future development will mean that the project is at least partiall yself-funding. Now, that’s design on a budget.
