Signature Bridge Sighting
By Raymond Morris
Update on the Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge
Although the ground work has been underway for some time, visible progress on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is now evident as the final section of the arch was put into place on Saturday, June 26, 2010.
The arch can be seen from various locations around Dallas and hints at the promise of the three planned signature bridges that will transform the Dallas skyline. The view is impressive when heading south on the Dallas North Tollway and equally as stunning when tooling through the downtown mix-master.
It appears that the bridge is on track for its projected completion date of late 2011. The next several months will be spent welding the seams of the arch pieces. The arch is 40 stories tall and will be a focal point as the Trinity River Project unfolds.
