Rumors, gossip, and downright scuttlebutt...

Is it possible that the US headquarters of a major European company might land on or near West Commerce/Fort Worth Avenue? We can't say for sure... but we can say reps for the European giant were recently scouting locations along the west bank of the Trinity River...Smoke is in the process of installing a ventilator it had hoped to have installed when the restaurant opened in mid September. Designed to help lessen the barbecue smell that can linger in the dining area (but, why, we ask?) the system got delayed due to the heavy rains...Have you seen the progress that's been made on The Fairways at La Reunion? The 200-unit senior residential complex is highly vertical and is on track to open mid-2010...that project is directly behind the Chase Banking Center where a security guard for Brinks was shot and killed this month. Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Cresencio Borquez.
