Sylvan-Thirty Moving Forward

By Raymond Morris

Sylvan-Thirty Moving Forward

In a presentation to the FWADG Board, Brent Jackson of Oaxaca Interests, LLC shared plans for the Sylvan-Thirty project. It is moving forward with plans for demolition toward the end of 2010. The presentation included the latest drawings and changes that were made to accommodate various suggestions by the City and other civic groups.

The current plans show the organic grocery store being moved to the northwest corner running along FWA. Contract negotiations are in progress. Restaurants, live-work units, and retail will run along Sylvan with angled parking. There is also internal surface-lot parking and a garage on the east side to accommodate both resident and retail parking. Additional retail will exist on the first floor of the residential units, which will also be on the east side.

A water feature is planned for the center of the complex extending north to south with an experimental space in the center for special event use. There are four places to enter and exit the complex--one on the I-30 exit ramp, two on Sylvan, and one on Ft. Worth Avenue.

It is very exciting to see this project moving forward in these tough economic times. Congratulations to Oaxaca Interests and Drexel Partners for persevering! To see the site and elevation plans, click here.
